I have been an art teacher for over 25 years. I have a B.S. in Art Education from the University of Missouri. I started teaching Junior High School art in the early 1980's and taught for over 10 years before taking a break to raise my 2 boys. I ventured back into teaching about 8 years ago by teaching adult community education art classes and then substitute teaching. I currently teach middle-school art part time. I have taught many adult classes at various Kansas City area shops and Community Centers. The classes I've taught include: Altered Books, Visual Journals, Precious Metal Class and Soldered Glass Charms. I received my Precious Metal Clay certification from Rio Grande in the spring of 2003. I love to meet new people and share creative ideas. My students both young & not so young teach me new things everyday! I love being a student myself and continue to grow professionally by taking art classes whenever I can. Over the last few years, I've been to Art Conventions such as Art and Soul and Art Continuum where I soak up creative energy and glean as many new ideas as I can. In my spare time I love to work in my visual journals, collage, make jewelry, read, go to Estate/Garage sales, travel, spend time with my family and play with my dogs! Thanks for visiting my website!!
